Story Behind

Our clients came to us to develop the software that helps busy teams to plan, collaborate and track the projects.

Previously, they managed multiple projects with hundreds of tasks inside. They tried to use different project management tools to organize the workflow and make it understandable to the team.

Nevertheless, they faced the same challenge each day — the project was too difficult for one person to grasp as a whole. So our client came up with idea that it’s easier to share the vision instead of describing tasks. Because one image is better than hundred words.

That’s how the idea of the Visual roadmap tool was born. It allows to easily visualize the project roadmap and share it with sales and marketing, production, customer support teams, stakeholders and even your customers!

Dependencies

Users can link two or more tasks to create dependencies which are the logical relationship between different tasks. They show the order in which tasks need to be completed.

This feature helps users to track and monitor the workflow in real-time.

Communication
& Feedback

Users can get feedback from teammates on every step of the project. Comments can be left dire ctly in the roadmap.

Additionally, it’s possible to turn on/off the email notifications about the new comments, new task assigned, etc.

Customized Design

Every project is unique and so are the roadmaps. Therefore, we added the customization features. They allow users to highlight critical tasks, tag the most important information, and identify crucial points inside the project.

UX and Design

Visual Roadmap Tool was meant to solve managers' problems instead of creating them. It was required to make product look beautiful and simple at the same time.

For that reason, we chose Material Design which is familiar and comprehensive to the majority of Internet users. Meaning, new users don’t have to spend time trying to understand how to work with the tool.

We tried to make the website design intuitive and not too overload it with useless features. We put the most important functions on the top. We also added bright elements so users can quickly navigate through the roadmap.
As for the background, we chose the light colors that save users’ eyes and don’t distract from work.
